Weekend Wrap-up

How is it that we are at another Monday (yes, I realize that it's Tuesday, I started this yesterday and didn't have a chance to finish it.) again? Time sure does fly by when you're having fun! Let's get to it.
..............................................................

Daddy had to work in the morning, so you and Mommy sloshed off to Little Gym. By ourselves. In the rain. Good times. It rained pretty much all day Saturday, so we really didn't do anything that required going outside. We played with all your toys and you watched a little of All Dogs Go To Heaven - your new favorite movie. And chilled in your new favorite chair.

  ..............................................................

Sunday was just a gorgeous day all around! The rain had gone away and it was sunny and a high of 77 degrees; perfect weather! We don't get many days like that here in Texas, so we take full advantage of them when we do. We did our normal Sunday activities like laundry and cleaning, but this time you got into the cleaning action as well! You were helping Daddy sweep the bathroom floor. Of course, you couldn't do that without wearing Mommy's headband!

So cute, in all your glory. After cleaning, you ate your lunch and went down for a nap. After you got up from your nap, we did your most favorite thing in the entire world - went outside! You absolutely love love LOVE to be outside. You always have been ever since you were a little baby. When you were a newborn and you were upset over something, we would take you outside and just sit in the chair and you would immediately calm down and stop crying.

We did everything possible outside. We played with sidewalk chalk...

we played with bubbles...

we rode your bike...

and we even saw an airplane flying through the sky. Which, of course, you stopped in your tracks to look at.

"AUGGGGIEEEE" (that's Emma talk for Airplane)

All in all it was another great weekend. Can't wait for the next one! I love you my peanut butter!

Being a Mommy...Part Three

Means dancing around really silly, whiling holding your daughter's hands, because that very moment is what is putting a smile on her face. And those smiles are what get you through your toughest days.

Weekend Wrap-up

Another great weekend in the record books! I absolutely love the weekends. What's not to love really? I don't have to wake up early to get ready for work. I get to hang out with my 2 favorite people of all times. Ahhh, yes, if only everyday could be the weekend day! So, lets get to it.

..............................................................

Saturday was Little Gym and football day. Mommy got up really early to go work out and returned home just in time for you to wake up. I absolutely love morning time on the weekends, you are the happiest little girl ever. You have started this new thing where you sit in your crib and at the top of your lungs, start screaming for either Mommy or Daddy to come get you. It's usually daddy though. You'll scream "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaady!!!!" In which, Daddy will scream "Emmmmmmmmmaaaaaaa!" back. You usually go back and forth for a good five minutes with each "Daddy" getting longer and louder. You usually will clap your hands along with it, as if saying, come get me now! Its really cute.

Every one is up at this point (even Hawkeye who is patiently - who am I kidding, Hawkeye is never patient at anything! - waiting for someone to let him out to do his business and to feed him) and we go out to the kitchen to eat breakfast. That's when the most beautiful and wonderful thing takes place. I was sitting in my chair eating a bowl of cereal and playing on the computer.

Undoubtedly on Facebook. Mommy loves Facebook. I digress.

You are sitting in your chair eating your cereal and you call my name. "Mommy..." "Mommy..." "Mommy..." After each Mommy, I say, "what?" or "um hum" or something to that effect thinking that you will just be saying something like "cereal nummy" or "airplane" or "Elmo." You know, your normal everyday conversation.

All the while, not looking up from the computer. Because I'm facebooking. Mommy loves Facebook. Oh? I already mentioned that? Moving on...

After like the 5th and very annoyed "MOMMY!" I realized that perhaps you really wanted my attention and for me to, I dunno, actually look at you. So I do. I turn my head and say "yes Emma." There you are, sitting there, your head cocked to one side (sort of like your ear to your shoulder) and you say "Mommy?" I say "yes peanut?" You then proceed with the most beautiful words EVER....."I wub you."

O.....M.....G

My heart stopped. Did she just say what I think she said? I think she did. What else could she have said? She really did say that!!!! OMG, I am the happiest Mommy in the entire world. No the universe! I can't wait to tell everyone that she told me that she loved me. This is the BEST morning ever!!!!

It's at this point that I realize that everything that just took place in the above paragraph were all thoughts running through my head and that I wasn't actually saying anything out loud and that Em was sitting there staring at me, waiting for a response. Which I respond with "Did you just say "I love you?"" Turning to Daddy, "did she just say I love you?" "I think she just said I love you" Turning back to Em, I ask her again, "did you just say I love you?" OMGosh, she did! Which I finally responded with an resounding "I LOVE YOU TOO PEANUT!!!!"

What a beautiful way to start my day, don't cha think? :)

And of course this all prompted me to post something on Facebook:

"Sitting at the breakfast table eating breakfast with Em and the following conversation takes place - Emma: Mommy? Mommy: Yes peanut? Emma: I wuv you. Mommy: I love you too peanut!......OMG, I think my heart just did a million back flips! I have the greatest little girl in the world. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥"

We finished breakfast and went to Little Gym and you played with all of your friends. You enjoy it so much and that in turn makes Mommy and Daddy enjoy it. Came home, you ate lunch and took a nap. Matthew and Katherine had a football/cheer game later that afternoon. I was particularly excited for this game as you got to show off your new shirt that Mommy made for you. I wanted a way for you to show your love and support for your cousins, so Mommy made you a shirt. The front of it says "Cheering for..." with a magaphone and pompom with Kat's name on it.

And the back of it says "Texans Football!" with a football helmet with Matt's number on it.

You love you cousins to death. You get really excited when I tell you that we are about to go see them or if you see pictures of them or you see them in person. And I think they love you too! They always ask about you and they always want to play with you. You had fun hanging out with Katherine and the other cheerleaders. Mommy was so happy to see this! You have 2 more years until you can cheer with the Texans and Mommy is chopping at the bit. I can't wait for that day!

Chattin' with Katherine

Checkin' out everything

All of the girls just loved you!

You already fit right in. :)

That night after the game and after everyone went home and showered (it was very hot at the game!) we meet Auntie V, Uncle Doug, Katherine and Matthew at Sweet Tomatoes for dinner - Mommy and Auntie V's favorite place to eat! And it is becoming yours as well. You love the beets, carrots, won ton things, bread (of course) and the dessert!

You were oh so good all day today!

..............................................................

Sunday was another great day. Mommy didn't get up early to go work out like she usually does, she wasn't feeling all that well and felt like she was getting a cold, so she just slept in and took it easy. We didn't do much of anything, just hung around the house and cleaned and did laundry. Mommy loves those kinds of days, just chillin' at home with her 2 most favorite people! You managed to play with every single toy you own; the living room and your bedroom were a disaster by the time you went to bed. You love to play with the kitchen mitts that Mommy uses to cook with. This particular Sunday, you were into those as well as your shopping cart. It was really comical!

All in all it was a great weekend. Can't wait for the next one to come around. You make my life so much more special! I love you peanut.

Spoiled Much?

You have got to be the luckiest girl in the entire world. When I think about the amount of people who love you, I smile from ear to ear and my heart does back flips. Your Nana and Papa really do like to spoil you and, frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way! You love airplanes, we all know this. So what is the first thing your Nana does when she learns this? Goes out and buys you, not one but TWO airplanes of your very own. Do you think she loves you? I would say so! Here are a couple of videos of you opening the box and playing with your new favorite toys!

Goin' Shoppin'

You received a birthday gift from a very dear and old friend of the Miguel Family; Kimmie. Kim used to live with your Nana and Daddy when he was really young, he was about the same age as you are now. She watched your Daddy grow up into the handsome, lovable man he is today. When she met you for the first time, the first words out of her mouth were how much you looked like Daddy. And of course how beautiful and precious you are! Your gift from her was a shopping cart and a brown lab puppy dog stuffed animal (to match your Hawkeye). Below is a video of you playing with your shopping cart.

Happy Heart

This photo says so much to me. It says happiness. It says sacrifice. It says dedication. It says love.......

It says Family.

I never thought in a million years that my life would be the way it is this very day - so happy and full of joy. When we made that oh-so-big decision to move to Texas from California, I knew that what we were doing was going to benefit us, I just never knew how much the impact was going to have on my happiness. I am thrilled beyond words at the amount of happiness my life now brings me. My family is everything to me, would do pretty much anything for them and Emma has certainly brought that into the forefront. She reminds me everyday of why I was put on this earth and why I made that painful decision to uproot my family of 2 and relocate to a foreign state.

Not a day, no, scratch that, not a moment goes by that I am not thinking about Emma or thinking about how my actions will affect her either today or in the years to come. I'm out at a store and I see some little trinket, I think, Emma would love that. I see a new book that she doesn't have and I think, Emma would love to sit in her chair and flip through the book and listen to Mommy or Daddy read to her. I can't wait for her to grow up and to experience with her all the things that a little girl gets to experience. She reminds me everyday that its the little things in life that we should get excited about, that life is too short to worry about this or worry about that. Live in the moment.

Emma - you are the center of Mommy and Daddy's world - thank you for allowing us to love you and thank you for being the best thing that Mommy and Daddy ever did. I love you with all my heart and soul.

Being a Mommy...Part Two

Means having the right to smother you with kisses at any point during the day and with as many as she wishes. I relish in this right!

Weekend Wrap-up

We had one of the best weekends we've had in a really long time. It started off just like any other weekend, with Little Gym. You absolutely love going to Little Gym; seeing Mr. Nick, running around with all of your friends. You always have a blast. We then went home and you ate lunch and took a nap. When you got up from your nap, we didn't really do all that much, just hung around the house. You played with your bike and your baby doll. There's that tongue action again...just like your Daddy!

Giving your baby doll a ride

We pretty much just hung around the house all day Saturday, doing little things here and there. Sunday was our big "Park Adventure" day. Auntie Veronica found a really cool park by our house that has a huge climbing jungle gym type of thing that is perfect for you to climb on. It has a sandbox, slides, swings and there is a pond near by that has ducks that like to be fed. Your cousins, Katherine and Matthew, along with Auntie V met us there and you had an absolute blast! You love playing with K and M, you follow them everywhere. And they love being your "big brother and big sister."

Wondering where all of the birds you were chasing have flown away to

Waiting to feed the ducks

Playing the musical thing with Matthew

You would follow Katherine back and forth through this tunnel

Even Daddy joined in the fun!

After the park adventure, you were one tired little girl! You crashed when we got home and had a very good nap. That night we went to dinner with Auntie V and Uncle Doug and K & M at Gordon Biersch. This is a restaurant that is in Cali that Mommy and Daddy and Auntie/Uncle would go to all the time and we found one here in Texas. We were all very excited! They have the best garlic fries. Anyway, after dinner we came home and it was your bed time. Mommy is very strict with your bed time schedule! You go down at 8pm on the weekends, 7:15pm during the week. :) We called Nana on the Nana Phone that night and you had your weekly chat with Nana. You love the Nana Phone!

This particular weekend was Labor Day weekend so Mommy and Daddy had Monday off. We woke up and the three of us went out to breakfast. You had yummy pancakes and ate all 3 of them. You were such a pig-o! We then came home and just chilled at home the rest of the day. It was such an awesome weekend, Mommy was really sad that it had to come to an end.

The Giant Green Ball

Your Auntie Veronica posted this photo series on Facebook and I thought it was very funny. Your adventure with the Giant Green Ball....

There once was a ball.

And a pretty little girl...

and they became great friends.

The girl pushed the ball...

and the ball pushed back.

But she didn't mind. :)

She picked the ball up...

except when the ball didn't want to go...

but she didn't mind.

That pretty girl was still friends with the ball.

...goodbye ball. It was fun. Let's play again tomorrow.

You then had some "swinging" time with Mommy. You new favorite thing to do right now is to swing. The higher the better!

After swinging with Mommy, you hung out in a tree for bit. You weren't quite sure what to do up there.
