Summer Fun

What a great summer we have had this year. A really hot one, but a great one nonetheless! This was the first summer that Emma learned how to swim - well, learned to tread water and float by herself. In the beginning of the summer, she wouldn't let go of Daddy or Mommy. For anything. We had to hold her the entire time we were in the pool. Now, she will get in and "swim" by herself. She has a blast. She will stay in the pool all day if we let her. Definitely a water kid now. She even "swims" in the bath tub! More adventures to come!

She even has started to learn to drive.... :)

Summer Fun

Summer Beginnings

We've had a whirl wind of a summer so far. We've had 3 visitors, new classes and a TON of fun! At the beginning of the summer, we had our first visitor, Janice, aka, Nana. We had a blast! Then again, we always have a blast with Nana. She went to school with her, went to Little Gym with her and just basically hung out and got in some quality Nana-Time.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I found a new way to post pics - debuting that new way now! Just click on the album below and it will take you to the album full of pictures. Enjoy!

Sooooooo Behind!

I am soooo behind in posting. Ugh. I have no excuse. Well, I do actually. Life has been really, really, really busy this summer. Work has been insane. So insane that by the time I get home, or get to a point when I'm not working, I'm so exhausted that the last thing I want to do is look at a computer. But I'm trying my best to get up to speed. I found a new, easy, way to post pics (look for that in the next post), which will hopefully ignite a fire under me to post more. :)

Just Because

Tuesday of this week, I was picking you up from school and we were on our way home and I had this overwhelming emotional feeling come over me. You were singing your new song that you learned at school (more to come on that in another post) and you were just so cute and lovable and I just wanted to eat you up. That feeling prompted me to post the following on Facebook for the entire world to know - as if they didn't know it already!

"Dear Emma: I can't even begin to express the level of joy and happiness you bring to my life. You have showed me what unconditional love is and have taught me to love whole heartily. I love you with my entire being - please don't ever forget that."

Days of the Week

You are beginning to learn the days of the week at school and your teachers have made up a song to help you remember it. I didn't know that this was happening until you started signing it in the car. It's the cutest thing ever!

Without further ado, I give you The 7 Days of The Week. Sung by Emma Lynn Miguel

Mother's Day

This year we went Mayfest to celebrate Mother's Day. Mayfest is sort of like an art and wine festival but also has a HUGE children's area where you could run around and play. You especially enjoyed this section. They had a ton of bounce houses and of course, you wanted to go on every single one. And, of course, we brought enough tickets to let you go on every single one. :) It was a bit hot for Mommy and Daddy but the heat didn't phase you and you had a blast. Therefore Mommy had a blast. All in all it was a great day!

This was on the shuttle bus - you thought this was the coolest thing. We could have honestly just rode around in this thing all day and you would have been so happy!

Picking out your design for your face paint

Being oh so patient and still while your face was painted

"Are you finished yet?"

The finished products -  a pretty butterfly
Going down the many bounce house slides

Playing in the water

Oh! That one got you!

We rode the train and towards the very end you were over it and bored.
You were so tired!

Big Girl Bed!

First let me preface this by saying that I can't believe that I have a 2 1/2 year old who is ready to be moved into a toddler bed. Wasn't it just yesterday that I found out that I was pregnant and wasn't it just yesterday that you were born? I can't believe how fast time is flying!

You are growing bigger by the minute so it was time that we put you in a toddler bed aka a BIG GIRL BED! This was a bittersweet move for Mommy - so ecstatic that you are growing and becoming a big girl but really sad that you no longer are a baby. Mommy really misses the baby stage!

This is your before bed

Daddy starting to take it apart

You were supposed to be practicing laying on your big girl bed but instead were jumping on it. <sigh>

Daddy reading the instructions

You decided to help...sort of

 Now you're really helping Daddy

Just like Daddy. I'm not sure if this is an inherited trait or you do it because you see Daddy doing it.

Almost finished!

Your Big Girl Bed was an instant hit!

Of course, you wanted Daddy to try it out with you

Hawkeye wanted to join in the fun

Daddy is just a tab bit big for the bed, don't cha think?

"All ready for Night Night Mommy in my Big Girl Bed!"

You are absolutely in love with your big girl bed. And have done quite well with the transition I might add. We were afraid that you would fall out or worse, get out of bed, play around or open the door and come out to the living room. But you haven't done any of those! You stay in the bed all night - you climb in, I say goodnight getting my oh so wonderful kisses and hugs and then you don't get out until I get you up in the morning. It's a beautiful thing! I think you haven't figured out yet that you can get out and play.....I know that the time is coming. Mommy and Daddy are enjoying this time right now that's for sure!

Your big girl bed is all you can talk about in the mornings when you get up. You say "I wake up Mommy" or "Emma big girl bed" I just love having little conversations with you, it definitely is the best part of my day!

Happy Easter!

Ok - so Mommy is a little late posting this, oh well!

This was the first year that you really "got" what you were supposed to do for Easter. You still didn't reallly understand it but you caught on quickly to the basics. Find eggs, open them and play/eat anything that was inside.

We started the morning with your egg hunt. The Easter Bunny knew that we were going over to Chris and Cindy's for Easter breakfast, so he made sure that he hid the eggs outside in the front, starting from our house all the way down to Chris and Cindy's and inside too.

 I see another one Mommy!

Your Easter Basket - look at all the goodies! You now wear thos flip flops every single day. You won't let Mommy or Daddy put on any other pair.

Waiting to eat breakfast. What a well mannered little girl you are!

Num-num, bacon!

You are such a little flirt

After breakfast, we all hung out for a little bit while you played with your new toys. Went home so that you could take a nap and then Auntie V, Uncle Doug, Michelle, Katherine and Matthew came over for yummy Easter Dinner!
