D'plane, D'plane!

You absolutely love airplanes right now. Ever since we returned from our trip from California you are obsessed with them. You look for them every time we are out and about, screaming at the top of your lungs, "AIRPLANE!!!" every single time we see one. You will even do that if you hear one going over our house. Last night we searched for videos of airplanes taking off and landing, and what do you know, there are thousands of them! You watched this one video for over 20 minutes - it was a great way for Mommy to get some stuff done around the house! And every time we replayed it for you, you would get just as excited as the first time you watched it!

Sunday Family Day

Today we had such an awesome family day. You were in the best mood; giving Mommy and Daddy both equal love. You were running around, screaming and laughing, playing with Daddy. That is my most favorite sound to hear. Mommy LOVES your laugh, it's the prettiest laugh in the world. You also got to go play around on the Dallas Cowboy's home field. Your cousins, Katherine and Matthew had the chance to play football and cheer on the field and we went to go see them. It's pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we took advantaged of it! You loved playing and running around. So much so that you kind of put up a fight when we were trying to go home. Here's your Daddy and you on the field and in the locker room!
You playing on the field

Smartness

This was a note that your teacher, Miss Kelsey wrote to us telling us about your day at school:

"Emma asked me what every animal cracker was before she ate it. Then started telling all her friends about each animal."

Just Daddy and Em

Ever since you were born, you have had a very special bond with your Daddy. Mommy had to have a special kind of surgery in order for you to make your grand entrance into the world, so it was really hard for Mommy to move around a lot that first week in the hospital with you. Daddy was definitely Mommy's hero!

Readin'

You love to read and this morning, you just weren't quite ready to stop reading. You looked at your Franklin the Turtle book the entire way to school. That's Mommy's Girl! :)

2 Year Checkup

Today you had your 2 year check up - something that you enjoy oh so very much. I'm being very sarcastic. In the past you have enjoyed talking and interacting with Dr. Wheeler however, as you have gotten older, you are becoming increasingly aware of what Dr. Wheeler represents....the dreaded SHOTS. Even before we walk into the room, you cry hysterically. And you pretty much don't stop until we are in the car. And when I say hysterically, I mean crying like someone is really hurting you, holding you down and torturing you. It breaks my heart every time you have an appointment. We both usually end up leaving crying. I hate that I can't take that pain away but it is a necessary pain to help you grow up big and strong! Just know that I do it out of love. Now for the stats:
Height: 33.5 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 24.5 pounds (20th percentile)

Everything checked out a-ok and Dr. Wheeler says that you are right on par for growing up a beautiful little girl. You only had to have 1 shot this time and you did surprisingly well with it. And the best part (even though you don't realize it now) you don't have to go back until your next birthday, an entire year from now! YAY!

Some other interesting facts about you at 2 years old:

Favorite Foods: Pasta, Anything with Cheese, Tortillas

Favorite Pastime: Being outside and walking Hawkeye in your red wagon. You also like to swing with either Mommy or Daddy. We will hold hands and swing you back and forth between our legs and if you are with Mommy, she then will swing you onto her bed. If you are with Daddy, he swings up into his arms and then twists you around in a full circle in the air. You want to do that over and over again. You also like to play with your cousins, K and M.

Favorite Movies: Madagascar 2 and Monsters vs. Aliens

Favorite thing to watch on the computer: Videos of airplanes taking off on YouTube and looking at pictures on Momny's Facebook

Favorite Toys: Books! You love to take your books everywhere you go and read. Some other favorites are your big blocks. You like to dump them out EVERYWHERE and make a big mess. You also like to throw balls back and forth. You love your bike and your baby doll that you received for your birthday.

Clothing Size: some 18mo and 24 mo. You can still wear 12mo if they run big!
Shoe Size: infant 4

Bedtime: 7:15pm during the week and 8pm on the weekends (we let you stay up a little later on the weekends - more time that Mommy and Daddy get to spend with you :) )

Hairstyle: You still don't like to have anything in your hair, you immediately pull it out. Mommy so desperately wants to be able to put things in your hair; it would make you that much cuter! Your hair is finally growing, which is very good. Poor thing spent almost the first 2 years of like with no hair!

You also are the best helper around the house. You feed Hawkeye every night, you help clean up your toys (sometimes!) and you like to throw things away in the trash.

She's so talented!

Since starting school April 2010, you have been very creative and have made a ton of things for Mommy and Daddy. I love how you are getting to explore with different mediums and I love watching you grow and blossom into a very adorable little girl.

Cupcake Party at School

Mommy and Daddy went to your school on your birthday (your first birthday spent at a school) and brought your class cupcakes - everyone was so excited to see us walk in with cupcakes! Especially you. You were very confused to see both of us there but very delighted at the same time.

More Birthday Gifts

Emma - you had 2 more gifts arrive on our door step yesterday and it was from, guess who? NANA and PAPA!! They sure do spoil you rotten. And I wouldn't have it any other way. You received a cool new wagon - perfect for our walks with Hawkeye and a Princess Adventure Hut. The hut has a tunnel that you can climb through and a little house that you can play in. Here are some photos of you helping Daddy and the final product. There is also a cool video of you playing with the hut. Thank you so much Nana and Papa - we love you so much!

Happy Birthday Peanut!

On occasion, I will post an update on Facebook about Em that I wish she was able to read. Well, being that she is only 2, she can't read them just yet. I was thinking of a way to save them so that one day she could read them; print the post, do a screen shot, then it came to me; post on my blog and then it will be archived to be read at a later date. Thus, Facebook Posts was born. This was mine from today:

Kimberly Klein Miguel would like to wish the most wonderful and amazing little girl a very happy 2nd birthday today. There are not enough words to describe my love for you and the immense joy you have brought to both your Daddy and I, I love you so much little peanut - you are my everything, my entire world.

Another Birthday! (and a new blog....)

I've wanted to start a blog for awhile now but just haven't. No excuse really, just haven't found the time to actually sit down and start blogging. Or maybe its the fact that I don't feel like I have anything important or interesting to say. Or all that funny. But who said that blogs had to be funny? I digress. I really wanted to start one before Emma was born and to keep one to document all of the daily adventures of her, but again, time just slipped away from me. I am really kicking myself for not starting this when I was pregnant, I have missed so much documentation these past 2 years and 9 months. <sigh> It is what it is and I am making this promise to myself to really blog and record everything that goes on in our lives. Fast forward just a bit and we are already celebrating Emma's 2nd birthday, so I thought, why not start now? So, I did.

I have a lot hopes and dreams for my blog. Whether or not they all will come true is a different story. I wanted a place that I could write Emma notes at, a place to share every little detail of her life and my every thought, both good and bad, that I thought about.  I also wanted a place that people could go to to be updated on what the Miguel's in Texas are up to. Not that our life is that exciting but we have a lot of family and friends that live out of state that might be interested. Or not. Hopefully Emma will be interested in what she was like as a little girl when she is grown up. And I will have that to share with her.
